Karuna Society for Animals and Nature recently launched a forestation initiative near the Amagondapalem Reserved Forest in Puttaparthi mandalāa vital step toward restoring the natural habitat for local wildlife.
Due to deforestation and human activity, animals like monkeys are being forced into nearby villages in search of food. To help reverse this, Mr. Narendra Reddy (Secretary, Karuna Society) led a plantation drive with support from Mr. Raghava Malladi and the Forest Department, which provided both saplings and permissions.
We planted 170 native black plum trees, chosen for their ability to provide food for birds and animals. The location was carefully selected near a water source, safe from fire risk and accessible for initial care. š³š¦š
While there are challengesālike grazing by cattle near the roadsideāweāre hopeful many of these saplings will thrive with the coming monsoon. This marks the beginning of an annual commitment to reforest degraded areas and bring back balance to our local ecosystems.
š Heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported this cause. Letās continue working together to protect our forests and the wildlife that depend on them.
