Ladies grinding powders and drying organic produce the old-fashioned way, making our Ahimsa products. Electricity is not dependable where we are located but that is no object in our quest to independantly support our rescued animals.
We were able to build a small portion of what we had planned, shaded feeding troughs for our cattle so they won’t have to eat in the full sun. The rest of the green cloth wil be used for the garden and for drying facilities for our organic products which will go on sale soon.
We were very grateful to receive a donation to build water troughs on the corner of our Ahimsa land, close to the forest. They will be heavily used by thirsty cattle and also for small and big wild animals and birds.

At Karuna, apart from the local cattle, we also have rescued buffaloes. Buffaloes are not utilized in this area for agriculture, rather only for milk and meat. Local farmers and dairies starve their male calves so that they can monopolise the cow’s milk and then sell them off to the leather industry or use them
Thanks to a generous donor, Karuna was able to purchase 14 acres of agricultural land next to the existing organic farm and cattle shed. This is the “Karuna’s Ahimsa Farm”. Here is a crop of maize that we grew and are harvesting now, which is food very much appreciated by our rescued cattle!
Our rescued camel really towers above the cattle! We came just in time to rescue the camel from slaughter and now he is living a happy and peaceful life making friends within our sanctuary.
