Update on Burned Bull

Two months ago we posted news about a rescued bull that had been burned on purpose. His recovery has been painful and slow, but he is doing much better.
On 3rd July 2009, the local police department confiscated a truck that had been overloaded with 32 cattle destined for slaughter. Among the cattle were young, healthy animals and even pregnant ones. The cattle are now under our care. The healthy working bulls will be given to local farmers under a strict adoption plan.
On June 8th 2009, WVS supported by the local veterinary doctors joined hands with the Karuna veterinary doctor and assistants to conduct a medical camp in the neighbouring village of Buchaiahgaripalli. This event met with success as over a 100 cattle and dogs were checked and treated. The cattle owners were advised to bring their
Raja, a majestic camel, was being paraded in Anantapur for the sale of his meat. Karuna Society was informed and we sprang into action to save him and transport him to our shelter in Enumulapalli. Raja is often taken to the forest for grazing.
