Karuna Society’s Rescued Deer

Karuna Society currently has about 20 Sambar deer and Blackbucks. Karuna’s ‘Wild Herd’ Prepares to Graze in the Forest

Here are our 100 ‘wild herd’ cattle (including 40 buffalo) preparing to go out into the forest to graze. Most have been with us for 10-15 years, rescued from illegal slaughter. Four attendants make sure they get fresh grass in the forest, and supplementary food in the evening. Their lives are now safe and comfortable.
