Long ago, we rescued a group of stray cows from Anantapur.
When they first arrived, we gave them fresh green grass. But heartbreakingly, some of them were unable to digest their food and started deteriorating. After a post-mortem, we discovered that it was due to large amounts of plastic that were coiled up inside their stomachs.
We realised the remaining cows could be suffering from the same problem. They underwent rumenotomy surgery to remove the plastic and give them a chance at life.
This beautiful girl is one of the survivors.
Today, she is blind due to old age and suffers from arthritis and age-related problems in her legs. After everything she has been through, she continues to live on with special care and love.
