The illegal cattle market at Gorantla, where there was no responsible authority, was stopped by Karuna’s activities. The market had turned into a centre for illegal cattle trade and cruelty. Every month we are called to assist in the rescue of injured or orphaned deer, which we rehabilitate and if possible, release again once they are well. Here one young patient gets a nice drink of nourishing milk, as part of her care.

This is Ms. Great-Great-Great-Grandmother Buffalo going to die a natural death. She is already more than 10 years with us, rescued from the slaughter truck. We don’t know her age. She has no teeth and cannot get up any more but eats well and still seems comfortable. We will lovingly nurse her till slowly the
