In March 2009, Karuna Society purchased 18 acres of agricultural land next to its present organic farm. We are grateful to Philip Wollen for his generous donation that enabled us to buy the land. The building for this hospital is under completion and soon it will be fully functional. It admits inpatient cows, bulls, calves, donkeys, ponies and injured goats for treatment and surgery by our specialized veterinary doctor. We even have a camel in our care. Raja, a majestic camel, was being paraded in Anantapur for the sale of his meat. Karuna Society was informed and we sprang into action to save him and transport him to our shelter in Enumulapalli. Raja is often taken to the forest for grazing.
The construction of the new ABC hospital and kennels was completed in December 2007. ABC surgeries are regularly conducted on street dogs of Puttaparthi and surrounding areas.
