This month we stepped up our Animal Birth Control surgeries, and nearly 60 male and female dogs were picked up, sterlised, and returned to their own areas, with anti-rabies vaccinations also. Kanha (dark brown) is a half-breed dog who arrived shaking with distemper, a viral disease that affects several of the bodily systems. A large percentage of dogs with distemper die, and those who survive can have lifelong issues. Kanha was strong and with our careful treatment, survived the disease. He now goes around free

Shyama, the dark dog, came to us shaking and feverish with distemper. A visiting volunteer lovingly nursed her through the illness and now she’s a permanent resident. A few days ago we were called to the rescue of a three month old monkey, sitting unresponsive on the road. We thought he might have been electrocuted but that turned out not to be the case. The Forest Department handed the little one over to Karuna for treatment and care. We
