The kitchen at Karuna runs on biogas. Here you see how the cow dung is mixed with water. It goes into an underground chamber where it produces gas which in turn moves through a pipe to the stove in the kitchen. The slurry leftover is perfect ready compost.
In the villages people are cooking outside on a wood fire. When dogs come too close to the food some people get angry and poor hot cooking oil or hot water over the dog. They come to Karuna with severe burns. It is cruel and very painful. The healing takes a long time. For this
