Outpatient Department A Blessing!

For the local villagers, Karuna’s in- and out-patient department is a blessing. The treatment is free of charge to enable them to bring their sick animals. Karuna’s Kitchen Runs on Biogas!

The kitchen at Karuna runs on biogas. Here you see how the cow dung is mixed with water. It goes into an underground chamber where it produces gas which in turn moves through a pipe to the stove in the kitchen. The slurry leftover is perfect ready compost.

Villagers Burn Dogs with Hot Oil

Monkeys and Live Wires

Almost once a week we receive a monkey that is electrocuted by connecting to the live wires in town. There are no more monkeys in the forest. They all come to town and don’t know the difference between a live wire and the branch of a tree.
