Gill the squirrel was found orphaned under a tree on April 24th, probably the runt of the litter. Twice we put her back in the nest but her mother kept pushing her out.

Our Wildlife Project Manager, Crystal, fostered her for nearly two months. Little Gill was very active, followed behind Krystal like a dog and demanded scratches and post-feed belly rubs otherwise she wouldn’t sleep!

Gill was recently released back into the wild, near where she was first found on the grounds of our Wildlife Sanctuary, and is now thriving! Of course she comes running to greet Crystal whenever she is nearby!
