This pony named Jane was standing in the middle of the highway NH7 to Anantapur with a broken leg. We called our ambulance and now she is safe and well at Karuna but the fracture had already set. We can only protect the leg with bandages.

One of our unusual rescues has been a fruit bat who was badly wounded on his head. We named him Peetje and because he stayed with us for several months we came to know each other well. He really was like a small dog, very intelligent and “knowing” what happened. Finally we released him close

As promised: Here are Ramaa and Giri playing. Giri is one year older than Ramaa. He came to Karuna after being electrocuted in a farmers field. He was unconscious for two days but recovered well. He lost the sight of one eye but has still one left to “eye” Ramaa!

Our little monkey Pippo is doing well. Some burns on arm and leg needs a bandage but within a few days you will see the improvements and full recovery.
Karuna’s wildlife rescue centre is in the process of shifting the monkeys and deer to our new location close to the forest. We used the opportunity to release some healthy monkeys and deer back into their natural habitat. Ten monkeys were released a few days ago in the forest at Kadiri. We keep disabled monkeys
A fruit bat that was in our care, surprised us with the expressions and reactions he shows! Sparkling us much like a dog – made us enjoy every moment with him for the two months that he stayed with us, before he was released to go free again.
This is a mother with her daughter. We thought this pony would not be able to conceive, but we turned out to be wrong! The foal still drinks for comfort from the mother.
