They came on different days, but with the same heartbreaking condition: paralyzed, injured, and forgotten by the world.
The first is an adult dog from Anantapur, hit by a vehicle and left to struggle alone. Because he is older and stronger, we believe he has a fighting chance. He seems to understand we are trying to help. His eyes still hold trust and he lets us treat him with gratefulness.
The second is a puppy—fragile, vulnerable, and much too young for such suffering. He has the same spinal trauma, but his chances look slim. Our inpatient ward is always full – sick dogs, injured animals, souls in pain – but we found space. We have to try.
They don’t know their odds; they only know that they are no longer alone!
We took both into Karuna as permanent residents – not because we have space, but because we have heart.
Every life matters. And sometimes, hope is all you can give.
