“If dogs don’t go to heaven, I want to go where the dogs go!”<\/h3>\n

“Buster” was an old German Shepherd, dumped outside our animal shelter. He was dirty, stinking, sick and mean! We took him in for treatment and placed him in a separate enclosure where we could see him. It took him several months to recover but cleaning and feeding him was not without risk. One of our staff started to give him some treats and talked with him. I observed that he had a keen interest in all our doings, following everybody with his eyes, considering….!<\/h3>\n

Finally, it seemed he had made up his mind and he became friendly. I made friends with him too and took him out for walks. Inside the compound with all the other residents and inpatients he was the most considerate, gentle and friendly person around. Sometimes he made little jumps of happiness. He became my best friend.<\/h3>\n

After a few years he became very sick again. One day when we thought he was doing much better, something special happened. When I passed him by I was stopped in my tracks as I felt he was looking at me intensely. I turned, looked at him and at that moment his face opened up, his soul poured out in a blazing light and our souls met. It lasted maybe a few seconds. I went up to him, patted him and talked some. A few hours later he died. My friend, my friend, I miss you! \ud83d\udc94\ud83d\udc93\ud83d\udc95<\/h3>\n
