Karuna believes that it is imperative to inculcate in children, while they are still young and impressionable, the importance of proper care and compassion towards the animals that share our world. All of the education programs are geared towards involving children\u2019s natural love and curiosity about animals while fostering a sense of respect and kindness. Humane education is the key to tap into their deepest values and help create a peaceful, just, compassionate and sustainable world. The interactive sessions educate and inform them on how they can help animals in their own respective areas, the basic laws on cruelty towards animals and various other related topics, in a very interesting manner.<\/p>\n
It is a known fact that human violence is linked with cruelty to animals. Humane education enables us to find solutions that work for all by considering human rights, environmental preservation, and animal protection as interconnected and integral dimensions of a healthy and just society. It empowers children with the knowledge to make choices that exhibit reverence, respect and responsibility for the environment, other species and all people.<\/p>\n
Karuna Society\u2019s Humane Education Programs was launched in December 2010. Students of local schools are targeted. Sessions, in each school, are held for different age groups. A documentary film on animals and their care is shown after each interactive session.<\/p>\n
