Karuna Society currently has about 20 Sambar deer and Blackbucks. Blackbucks are included in the endangered species list in India, and the local forest department often call us to assist in rescues and to house the animals until they recover and can be released. In some cases, they have to remain with us for life. Each day we feed them fodder, grass, brans and mineral mixes. Every three months they get deworming treatments. They can be very sensitive and receive caring treatment from our compassionate caretakers!
